Healthy carrot cupcakes

Asalamualaikum Wa Rahmatu Allahi Wa Barakatuhu

Today, there was a plan to have the book club at someones house. I made some healthy cupcakes for everyone. However, everyone was quite busy. So i had them all to myself!!

Here is the recipe:

Carrot Cake,

2 cups flour

1 tsp cinnamon

1 tsp ginger

1/2 tsp ground cloves

3/4 tsp baking soda

3/4 tsp salt

1 cup grated carrot

3/4 cup Date Syrup

2/3 cup applesauce or crushed pineapple

1/2 cup canola oil

2 eggs, lightly beaten

1 tsp real vanilla

Optional – 1/2 cup raisins and 1/2 cup walnuts

Mix dry ingredients and wet ingredients in separate bowls and then combine well. Pour into a greased 9-in cake pan and bake at 350 degrees for 45-50 minutes, or until a toothpick comes out dry.

**Frosting note** – This is delicious of course, with the typical cream cheese, powdered sugar and milk combo. 

If you want a healthier option, try this:

-8 ounces cream cheese at room temperature

-5 TB Date Syrup

-3 packages of Stevia powder

Mix well in blender and spread on cooled cake.

I got this recipe on a website where they sell date syrup, they had many recipes on the website, which looked sooooooooooooo delicious!!

School Life in Japan vs. the USA

School Life in JAPAN

After breakfast students walk to school. While walking to school, they wear a yellow hat and a jacket that says the school name and address. 

School in Japanese is called gakko and children start after their 6th birthday. The school year starts in April. They have school Monday-Friday and every other Saturday. They call teachers sensei, which means teacher. Daily subjects include Japanese, English, math, science, social studies, and gym. Students attend art, music, and technology classes once a week. 


They eat lunch in their classroom with their sensei. They serve the food to each other and eat with chopsticks.

 
 
Japanese students have to clean the school.  

They scrub the classroom and halls.

School Life in the USA

 
Students get to school walking or by bus. Some students eat breakfast at school, too.

American children begin school after their 5^th birthday. The American school year runs from September to June. They have school Monday – Friday. Teachers are called by their title and last name. Daily subjects include language arts, English, math, science, and social studies. Two or three times a week, students have  gym/health, art, music, and technology classes.

They eat lunch in the cafeteria. The teachers have their own lunch room.    
 
American students have a full summer vacation.
